Description
An established Australian legal firm is seeking a qualified Attorney-at-Law / Legal Assistant based in Sri Lanka to provide ongoing legal support on Australian matters.
This role is strictly for candidates with an English-medium legal education and strong written and spoken English skills.
Essential Eligibility Criteria (Non-Negotiable)
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Attorney-at-Law qualification in Sri Lanka (active or recently admitted)
LLB degree completed entirely in English
English-medium primary and secondary education
High-level legal drafting skills in English
Ability to read, analyse, and summarise legal materials accurately
Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely with Australian timeframes
Strong attention to detail and professional discipline

Desirable (Advantage Only)
Proficiency in a second language (Sinhala and/or Tamil preferred)
Prior exposure to foreign or common-law jurisdictions (UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc.)
Experience assisting with:
Legal research
Drafting submissions, affidavits, and correspondence
File management and document review
Key Responsibilities
Legal research and case analysis under supervision of Australian lawyers
Drafting legal documents, letters, and submissions in English
Assisting with case preparation and file organisation
Liaising with internal legal teams remotely
Supporting compliance and procedural requirements of an Australian legal practice
